Meet the team

James Shelton

Managing Director

With a background in statistics and development, I’ve spent the last 15 years in recruitment working with and placing software developers. Having been involved in over 1,000 placements, I now spend my time working with clients and the Nixor team to better understand the development community – in which we interact with daily. The result? A network, system, feedback mechanism, events and training that are all designed to support both the candidate and client through the hiring journey.

A key passion of mine lies in dissecting the recruitment journey in order to help our clients attract the best talent – whilst saving them time and money. This has led to the development of our bespoke 12-step model, which has allowed me to deliver hiring and retention training for a host of SMEs such as Grant Thornton, RB and the London Stock Exchange.

Outside of the office, I’m a dad first and foremost. I love the “freedom” you get from being able to act like a kid when playing with a toddler. I also spend my time running, going to the gym and watching most sport. But as a Nottingham Forest fan, I’ve developed a resilience that comes from the heartbreak of supporting a team that used to be good and just aren’t anymore.

Tara Lea

Operations Manager

I’ve been with Nixor just over 5 years as Nixor’s Operations Manager. I get stuck in a little bit of everything. Well, except Recruitment. I manage Nixor’s back office system alongside Contractor Admin, accounts, a little social media & HR here and there.

I love to organise, so this is my happy place. I take pride in making sure everything gets done behind the scenes so the Directors & staff can concentrate on all things Recruitment. I work closely with our Contractors to make sure the transition into their new Contract is as smooth as possible, and they can concentrate on their new role.

I’m an advocate for positive workplace culture and pride myself in treating people as individuals. Whether that be staff, candidates or clients. I think it’s so important within any company to do so.

Outside of work I’m a big home body, & a massive introvert (unless there’s Rum involved). I’m a mum & step mum to two girls, so I’m kept busy, always! I love to keep active in the gym or running around after my toddler.

Travelling is something I enjoy to do and share with my family. We’ve recently bought a Van & converting into a Camper to explore Europe with my little family. Wish me luck!
