Lead C# Developer. New Investment plus Equity
Job description
The Company & Product.
I am currently working with an Ed tech company who are disrupting the education sector with their Web platform and Mobile App that supports the Supply Teacher market.
The product itself is designed to streamline how supply teachers and schools interact, allowing for a more consistent relationship along with enabling graduates a greater opportunity to get into teaching, supporting mums and dads who want to go back to work after having children and also creating a platform for supply teachers to build career development which normally doesn’t happen due to the sporadic nature of the work.
The above also means that schools and educational institutions reduce costs as the middleman is removed from the process which brings greater visibility and a closer working relationship.
Exciting time to join.
Having been going for 4 years they have just received their largest round of investment and as a result are looking to grow their in-house development team and want to start with hiring a Lead Developer. They are looking for a Lead Developer or Senior Developer that wants to step up and oversee the direction of the product as well as decisions around tech roadmap, DevOps practices and development standards.
The product currently has a huge new feature roadmap and the applications for this technology are massive as they look to expand within the UK & potentially move to the USA and Europe.
They are also doing some initial research into other industry sectors outside Education as this application has huge implications for a number of other industry sectors where short-term temporary staff are required (e.g. Nursing, Doctors, Legal)
Tech stack wise their core product is built in:
- - C#.Net core
- - Angular
- - SQL Server
- - Azure
They are therefore after an experienced Full stack C# developer who has worked with any JavaScript Framework (Angular, React, Vue etc) and has knowledge of Cloud (they use Azure, but will consider any). Of course they are using other technology, but the above are their only requirements.
The role.
The position will report directly into the CTO / Co-owner and will take full ownership of the product roadmap as well as a technical and infrastructure decisions around how they build their application in order to scale up at pace once the product goes to market.
The latest round of investment will allow this business to grow their development function with the addition of a couple of software engineers (reporting into this role) and a QA manager, but this lead role is the first in-house developer they would like to hire.
Therefore this position has the opportunity to take full ownership of the development processes & technology decisions as well as overseeing the team and the overall development of the core product and mobile app.
Given the timing of where they are on their journey this would be an excellent opportunity for someone who fancies having more autonomy and has a desire to really have a positive impact on the wider educational industry.
As the Owners see this role as a pivotal hire, they are wanting to give away equity as part of the loner-term strategy.
What’s in it for me?
- Ability to lead the development function and make strategic decisions whilst setting the coding standards.
- Help transform an industry sector that helps improve the Educational sector and reduce recruitment costs for Educational institutions.
- Help build a product and team from the very early stages.
- Get an Equity Stake in a scale up with a recent large investment.
The role is based near Old Street Tube station in central London. Given this is a Lead role the client would like this person to be in the office 2 days a week, with the rest working from home.
Salary wise they are looking to pay between £80,000 to £85,000 & the role will come with Equity with the opportunity to earn a large pay out.
